The Bay Area Duster Project

The Story

This Duster is a true survivor, rescued from being crushed in the Bay Area of California back in 2021. The journey was rough on it, and when it arrived, we found the auction house had damaged the steering components. We got to work immediately.

We didn't just get it running; we got it right. We replaced the passenger control arm, steering linkage, and tie rod ends to make it a solid, drivable car once again.

Under the Hood & On the Road

The heart of this muscle car is its 318 V8 engine, upgraded with an Edelbrock 1406 carburetor. Behind it is a freshly rebuilt 904 automatic transmission with a new case, ready for the road. The car runs, drives, and stops well. We've changed the oil and cleaned the fuel system to give you a great starting point. Inside, you'll find a full set of brand new Autometer gauges that work flawlessly. The factory A/C system is complete, but remains untested.

An Honest Assessment: The Project Ahead

Let's talk about the roof. The coastal climate was not kind to the original vinyl top, and the roof panel has rust. This is the main project for this Duster. The great news is that we have already sourced a solid replacement roof panel, which is included with the sale.

We've done the heavy lifting on the mechanical side. Now, this Duster is a fantastic platform, ready for someone to take on the bodywork and create their vision of a classic muscle car. The rest of the body is surprisingly rust-free, with just some surface rust in the trunk.

To ensure a professional and focused experience for every potential new owner, all viewings are held exclusively at our licensed dealership, Johnson Family Motors.

This is a strictly by-appointment-only process.

The truck is not kept on a public lot. We bring it to the dealership from a private, secure location specifically for your scheduled viewing. This allows us to have a personal, one-on-one conversation about this truck and prevents any interruptions.

For this reason, we cannot accommodate casual drop-ins. We appreciate your understanding and respect for this process, which allows us to provide a proper one-on-one experience for serious buyers.

This car holds a clean and clear Utah title with no California back DMV fees due. All transactions will go through our licensed dealership as required. Utah residences are subject to sales tax.

All viewings are held at the dealership and are scheduled by appointment only.
